Name: Elthariel
Gender: Female
Species: Xenos Majoris Aeldari (Asuryani)
Age: 685 [Terran standard]
Height: 6’9’’
Weight: I've never liked these parts and I'm not starting to like them now.
Allegiance: Craftworld Biel-Tan
Rank/Occupation: Ranger
Notes: Elthariel has been observed utilising a Raptor-class aeldari jetbike, the two-seat variant favoured by Shroudrunner ranger clades.
Born: Craftworld Biel-Tan
Languages Spoken: Aeldari (Spoken, Written, Runic), limited Low Gothic (Spoken, Written)
Appearance: Tall, unnatural, and fey as the rest of her inexplicable race, Elthariel could well be the mirror of her brother – a mane of red hair and eyes of brown. But whereas Elthanil is the very image of well-kept pride and gleaming arrogance, Elthariel is in all ways muted, armour camouflage-drab and hair dulled to more brown than flame-red. There is a mote more of grey to her eyes than her sibling, and where he evokes the furious aspect of the Dragon, she proves much finer a fit for the callous death-thirst of the Reaper…
History: Rare within the already few births among the slow-growing aeldari, Elthariel was twinned with Elthanil, her brother, and grew to maturity alongside him. She was with him as the Guardian host was summoned to spare a Maiden World from mon’keigh footfalls, and likewise felt the pull of Khaine upon her, joining him upon the path of the Reaper. But when Elthanil withdrew from the Bloody-Handed God’s embrace, Elthariel sunk deeper still, the war-mask of the Reaper shrine becoming increasingly difficult to remove. For a time it seemed that the next Exarch of the Reaper shrine was clearly fated – yet, in what was either a sudden moment of clarity, or the grip of all-consuming terror at the onset of Khaine’s thirst, Elthariel snapped. Casting aside the Reaper's mask, she fled her Craftworld onto the Path of the Outcast, distancing herself as much as possible from the pull of Khaela Mensha Khaine.
But the Bloody-Handed God is covetous, and is not easily denied his prizes.
Vanishing into the endless gloom of the galactic weald, Ranger Elthariel returned to the world of her birth – and thus, her brother – at the eve of Biel-Tan’s sundering, her efforts to save the Craftworld from its shattering coming to naught. Bitter and distraught, Elthariel chose to walk the path of redeeming herself for her failure, volunteering to guide Elthanil’s war-party on their quest to the mon’keigh realm of the Haven system, there to path-find and teach them the ways of subtlety.
Personality: Withdrawn and solemn, Elthariel seals a churning sea of heightened emotions – aeldari pride, the bittersweet reunion with her sibling, lamentation and self-hatred over the fracture of Biel-Tan, and the lurking, seductive horror of Khaine’s bloody thirst – under the aloof mask of the patient Ranger. Though she would wish nothing more than to have an open reunion with dear Elthanil, she knows well that the once-inseparable twins have grown distant in the years of her absence, and would not blame him if he hated her. Thus, she approaches her sibling not as his blooded kindred, but as a Ranger, a tutor in the arts of subtlety and stealth.
Perhaps Elthariel would prefer if she could lose herself entirely to the Outcast ways, to eke out an existence as a Pathfinder. But old masks cast aside are not so easily forgotten, and one day the Reaper may yet have its due…
Equipment:
- Ranger mesh-plate, daubed in muted Biel-Tan hues
- Ranger cameleoline coak, hooded and gossamer-thin
Trouble: Omens of the Reaper’s Bones (Much as Elthanil is dogged by the Bloody-Handed God’s endless font of rage, Elthariel feels the lure of his aspect of the death-dealer, the mortuary shroud of the Reaper.)
Aspect: Purveyor of the Manifold Ways (This Ranger has travelled far and wide, and has made dealings with aeldari of all paths, to mixed successes – and was even a Corsair Fate Dealer for a time. Nevertheless, she retains knowledge of their speech and mannerisms.)
Waystalker: Because of long centuries of practice and carefully self-enforced patience, Elthariel receives +2 when she does not rush a shot, but Carefully takes aim and awaits the perfect opportunity.
Waywatcher: Because she can slip into stealth as easily another would breathe, Elthariel receives +2 when she assists a fellow aeldari in being Sneaky.
A Raptor-class two-seat variant of the common aeldari jetbike, Shroudrunners are typically operated by teams of two Rangers – a pilot, and a sniper riding pillion. Devoid of such a partner, Elthariel instead uses the rear seat to stow additional baggage, as ad-hoc prisoner transport, or to convey a single passenger with high speed and subtlety. The jetbike carries an aeldari scatter laser as its sole onboard armament.

Characteristics:
High Concept: Strider of the Unseen Paths (To run where others could not even walk, to strike an enemy from an angle deemed impossible – that is the way of the Ranger.)
Stunts:
Wayfinder: Because she has attained some mastery of the ways of the Ranger, once per game session Elthariel can exploit a convenient opportunity for stealth that others may not have seen.
