Name: Elthanil
Gender: Male
Species: Xenos Majoris Aeldari (Asuryani)
Age: 685 Standard Terran Years
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 168lbs/76kgs
Allegiance: Craftworld Biel-tan, Asuryani by extension.
Rank/Occupation: Warlock
Notes: Accompanied by a retinue of Guardians.
Born: Craftworld Biel-Tan
Languages Spoken: Aeldari (Spoken, Written, Runic) - Low Gothic (Spoken, Written)
Appearance: Clad in flowing green robes, and donning bone-white armor underneath - Elthanil leaves remarkably little to glean beyond what that image alone presents - a tall, slender, but deceptively agile figure. Everything from his posture to his wargear speaks of well-kept appearance, and a weighty arrogance that is carried quite comfortably across his shoulders. Beyond the coloring of his craftworld, Biel-tan, there is remarkably little flair to the human eye in his design - the runes inlaid into his armor and robe imperceptible, their geometric patterns and warding only visible to trained Eldar eyes, which shows a remarkably robust, yet elegant weave across his form. The bone-white helm he wears is narrow and pointed, distinctive of most Eldar helms - with a deep red plume of hair emerging from the tip, which hangs free.
Outside his armor, in the rare sight, there is remarkably little to say. Lithe and gaudy as all Eldar are, Elthanil's features are sharp, pointed, and almost elegantly sculpted - or unnaturally, depending on the viewer. A scowl of displeasure constantly marrs his otherwise impeccable visage, and harsh, brown eyes stare out into the world with thinly veiled contempt.
History: Fairly well-lived for an Eldar not yet lost to the path of the seer, Elthanil has experienced much in his six-and-a-half centuries of existence - regrettably, most of it loss, which in turn has shaped Elthanil in to the Eldar - or better put, husk he is today. Born in a rare fertile family, one blessed with siblings no less, Elthanil's early life in service to the craftworld was unremarkable - serving among many civilian paths, his first taste of battle was not of his own volition - it was a call to arms as a Guardian that saw him down the slow decline into Khaine's embrace. Fighting in a punitive Swordwind against Imperial colonists who belligerently refused demands to leave a then-uninhabited maiden world, Elthanil saw firsthand the disgusting obstinance and desperation of the lesser races in action, as the colonists fought to the very last - claiming but a few eldar in their passing, some losses which stung him greatly.
Having tasted the Path of War, he forsook returning to the Path of Service - instead going further down as he plied the aspects for ones that suited his cause. First came the Reaper, which he grew accustomed to for many decades - joining battle from afar, safely delivering death upon primitives and savages alike, ensuring as little eldar blood was to be lost as he could - only leaving the path at the Exarch's bequest - who wisely felt he was not yet ready to lose himself into Khaine's embrace - at least not yet. The Path of the Dragon was next, a staunch contrast from his previous service, as he placed himself upon the vanguard of harm to ensure his kin did not, and it was fortune that he survived as long as he did before he moved on - even the few years he spent fighting imparted upon him a deep respect for battle, and a further contempt for the younger races - Humans especially, who frequently clashed with Biel-tan forces over Maiden worlds or retaliatory strikes, in a cyclical dance of death that only cost the Eldar more lives.
The final journey upon the Path, and the one he has tread for a dangerously long time since, was The Seer. Out of a compulsion to protect his kin, or one to use his might to lash out in anger against the enemies of the Eldar, Elthanil cannot truly say, for his memories since have turned to a haze - the Path of War, and Khaine's madness slowly but surely overtaking him. In the few centuries since his adoption of the path, Elthanil has become a shell of what he once was - what positive traits one could even say were present in such an Eldar's heart withering away, consumed only by his desire to vent his rage, and slake the thirst for battle that nearly consumes him still.
All this culminates to his most recent assignment - in the wake of the fracturing of Biel-tan, the loss of a grand majority of its population to the Ynnari, and the increasing tumultuous situation in the galaxy, what few seers remain among the craftworld have sent Elthanil out alongside a handful of guardians, truthfully all they could, or were willing, to spare for such a war-hungry soul, to scour the galaxy for their former maiden worlds, and ascertain a safe place for future recolonization, should the efforts to weave the craftworld back together fail. Haven is one such world that his motley scouting party has come across - the realization that it is covered with primitives, and worse still, servants of the Great Enemy has done little dissuade him. Even if it costs him his life, even if the seeds will take centuries to fruit, he will till the soil and reap a heavy toll from the vermin that cover its surface, so that Haven might be returned to rightful Eldar hands.
Personality: It is hard to define the personality of an Eldar, especially one embroiled in the path of war - for theirs is to assume a personality entirely independent of the original, to bear the horrors of war and the hate they must wield to preserve the craftworld and their species. But even still, for one set upon the path of war, and the path of the seer no less, Elthanil is just a few steps away from damning himself to such dangerous emotions. Even segregated from the war-mask during times of peace (which are nonexistent now, thanks to recent events), Elthanil's contempt for the lesser races, humanity in particular, has begun to leak through what should be an impenetrable dam that is his psyche. So strong are these emotions, that it is barely possible to describe in the breadth of words alone - Eldar feel and think far deeper than any human do, so to truly say Elthanil hates and despises the lesser races, humans especially, is barely a fraction of its meaning.
Such anger has done little to affect his proper judgement, disciplined enough to contain these emotions when the craftworld demands it, but there is something to be said about the malice in which Elthanil conducts himself - where one eldar would be happy to sacrifice a thousand human souls for a chance at saving one of their own, Elthanil would sacrifice ten thousand more just for the sake of it. Were it not for the damaged state of the craftworld, and the wound tearing the galaxy asunder, this aged, bitter warlock would be considered lost to Khaine already - but as needs must, such idiosyncrasies of his are tolerated.
An Eldar-Supremacist at heart, as Biel-tan Eldar often are, Elthanil longs for the halcyon days of the old Empire - tales left only on the vaguest psychic impressions and grand narratives sung by his people, and constantly seeks to further this great and noble goal - at the cost of every other race.
Equipment:
-Psychically Attuned Witchblade
-Rune Armor, inlaid with runic wardings and other sigils of protection, divination, and augmentation.
-Small assortment of baubles - runes, instruments of scrying, small collections of 'rations'.
-A single, violet spirit-stone - driven over the heart of his breastplate.
Characteristics:
High Concept: Our Dominion Over All: Driven by his Craftworld's xenophobic zeal and revanchist fervor, Elthanil is of a firm mind that the lesser races need be put to heel, and that all enemies of the Eldar vanquished. To this end, he is eager to cooperate with others of his ilk, seeing Eldar goals as noble endeavors to assist - save those that put Eldar lives at risk needlessly, when better tools are at their disposal.
Trouble: Stoked By Khaine's Fury: Almost consumed by the depths of fury and hate that Eldar can truly experience, Elthanil is prone to error in evaluation - situations involving the lesser races, and the consequences of stirring such 'inferior' species can often gone unnoticed - short of enticing full reprisal and dooming the mission.
Aspect: A Journeyman Along The Path: The breadth of his years has allowed Elthanil much time to explore the many Paths available to his kin - subconscious experience from his previous tenures as a Dark Reaper and later Fire Dragon coming to him through buried thoughts and instincts, occasionally aiding him in strategy and battle.
Stunts:
Disciple of the Witch Path; Having donned the war-mask of the Seer, Elthanil is capable of casting powers from the Runes of Battle Discipline.
Wielding a mighty Witch-Blade, once per session Elthanil is capable of casting Destructor, from the Runes of Battle Discipline, with greater efficacy (+2 to roll)
Girded with reinforced, psychically attuned Rune-Armor, once-per session may Elthanil invoke the runes to mitigate damage from a powerful blow (Halve or wholly, up to GM discretion).
