Name: Bruce Williams
Nickname: Willie Gee
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Age: 25
Height: 6ft
Weight: 83kg
Allegiance: Anyone who's willing to except their add and support (except chaos, frak those guys. Though they are influenced by the genestealers...).
Rank/Occupation: Wanderers/hired hands
Notes: Bruce is seldom seen without his two compatriots, mates and fellow rogues ('Quiet' Tane and Jed) being far off. The three also have joint ownership of an open top Imperial centaur named 'NOMAD'.
Born: Hellen's Mine, Haven’s Garden
Languages Spoken: Low Gothic
Appearance: Other than a permanently dubious look on his face Bruce features are rather unremarkable in comparison to the other humans living on Heaven's Garden, especially those who have or do work in the mines. Rough skin for his age, short yet curly brown hair and of average high. His dress helps to distinguish him a little, for he is always seen with a red bandana tied around his head. His clothes are old and durable mine's pants and short coat with a singlet underneath.
As for his mates though, they stand out a little more. Tane is darker in skin color and has a rounder face with an almost shaven head. His silent nature is more than made up for with his wide range of expressions. He wears long shorts, a short sleeved hoody and a beanie. Jed is the tales and youngest of the band. Slack jawed, unshaved and wide eyed, bumkin suites as a one work description alongside the word simple). He wears similar pants to Bruce, a hoody similar to Tane and an old hat with flaps he found on an old battle field one time.
History: Although Bruce, Tane and Jed are all very different individuals, their story is a shared one. All three of them were born and grew up to work at the small shanty community which lived around Hellen's Mine. The unusual thing about Hellen's Mine is that it wasn't located around the mountains like Gilt Edge, but is located in the farming plains. Before the war and strife, it was a stead and honest place to live as the seams where health and easy to reach below the earth. But in the earlier stages of the conflict were felt in these backwaters as news of the Rages trickled in. There was much concern in the community of Hellen's Mine, but the elders were swift to decide on how they would handle this developing situation. They would continue as they always have, but make ready too...
It was 0.243 Post HCM.M42 that Hellen's Mine finally can to the attention of the war that raged. It was a forward element of a renegade force which entered the muddle of shanty huts and call on the residents to join the fight against the dictators and oppressors. The residents gave their leader little notice as the carried on business as the always had, even as he raised his voice and lobbed in vain for their support. It was when the figurehead reveled his true colors began to threaten that he would level their homes that the residents finally payed him notice.
When the main forces of the chaos aligned force arrived, they found the clear signs that the entire shanty had picked up and moved on and the butchered remains of the advance force. Left as an answer to the demands.
Infuriated, the army followed the direction of the felling mines, but only found empty vehicles that had been rigged to drive until they crashed or ran out of fuel. By then the force had more pressing matters and abandoned their vengeful pursuit. The mines themselves remain where they were, hidden in the very mine they had border up. By the time of the Mordian Grand March, the people of Hellen's Mine were all but forgotten. There below the earth the community hunkered down. They dug, prepared and kept watch for and threat that ventured too close. Many times hostile forces would venture too close or even into the mine, forcing the mines to fight. It was at the darkest moment, when a warband discovered and besieged them in the mine, that the stranger arrived.
No one know how he got into the mine, but when he was captured he insisted he was just looking for refuge. Although treated with a great amount of suspicion the stranger (a name he adopted from the first encounter) quickly proved himself time and time again as not only a trustworthy individual, but a dashing hero. He would always arrive to turn the tide in the defense of a tunnel network or venture out by himself above ground to gain information and intel. He also brought ne ideas to the mines and their families. Ideas of how the Planet was alive and how the imperium as a whole had overshot the mark when it came to how simple the truth of reality are. The mines took well to the ideas and soon adopted the belief in the planet they lived on and off of.
Finally, by around 1.100 Post HCM.m42 the Imperial forces had pass through and beyond the region were Hellen's Mine lay hidden. It was around this time that Bruce, Tane and Jed decide that for themselves, the war (in the tunnels at least) was over. The had spent many nights drinking and talking about what they would do once they got out of this rotten mine. They were fed up with hiding and wanted to live a new life. Free from all which might oppress them. They had also grown sick of the stranger's constant preaching. Now they could see that things had at least temporarily settled down and that now was their opportunity. And so they gathered their meager belongs, far welled those few who they still cared for and ventured out above ground.
It wasn't long before they stumbled upon an abandoned centaur tank and with a little work, the new christened 'NOMAD' was ready. And so they have been traveling the land, supporting and helping those who except or request their help. Whether it's a civilian in need of a ride or a army who could do with a gun towed, no job is too big or small for the trio. For add Bruce said as the left the mine that new morning: "There's a life to be lived and money to be made!"
Personality: Bruce is the brains of the difunctional trio. He always has a plan in mind a a direction to head to. Driven as they all are to live the best life they can, he is willing to do a lot of things if it means they come out better than they were before. His nature is to scheme and weasel his way through thick and thin, but to those who earn his trust, he is in fact loyal to a fault. He has a fiery temper to match his passion, but he is a more than friendly character (and a convincing businessmen).
'Quiet' Tane on the other hand is seldom heard since he doesn't say to much outside of his two friends. His silent nature is more than made up for with his wide range of expressions which gets across any point he needs to make. He is usually calm and joyful and down for a good laugh. He also has a way with mechanical things, being the prime engineer of the three. His fiddling's with the weapons and centaur has usually been for the better.
Jed on another hand is 'simple' and a 'bumkin' by nature. He can be naïve and a klutz as he bumbles his way through life. Asking the wrong questions at an inappropriate time is a past time for him. Though sometimes, just sometimes, he somehow says something unbelievably profound or makes a split action of decision that completely changes a situation for the better. You could say that Jed could just be one of the greatest mysteries of Haven's Garden.
Equipment:
-One open top Imperial Centaur multi-purpose vehicle with a heavy stubber, tow hook and addition equipment (eg: tool box)
-Scratch built tarp to put over open roof of the centaur
-Clothes, bedding, food and water supplies and personal belongings
-Three auto revolver pistols and ammunition for said pistols and heavy stubber
-Temperamental Mining laser (Tane's most recent project)
-Enough fuel (for now)
-Random salvaged and traded items (it's got to be worth something?)
-A small amount of acquired wealth.
Characteristics:
High Concept: Happy to help (The three travel throughout the land helping all in need of service, at an agreed price of course).
Trouble: Always trouble... (Due to the way they live their lives and the dodgy dealings they manage to make along the way, the trio are ether getting into trouble or not far away from it).
Aspect: You only live once! (What the trio want above all else is too live their life to the full. This leads to some glorious moments and some pretty stupid decisions).
Stunts:
Man with the plan: Because his plans have a tendency to work out (most of the time...), Bruce receives +2 when he is clever around one of his schemes.
DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!: Because Tane can drive well (and has removed the speed limiter), the trio receives +2 when they are trying to quickly get somewhere or get away.
Desperados: Because they have gotten in and out of trouble more time than they can count, the trio receives +2 when sneaking out of a situation.
