History of Aeldari in the Haven System
In ancient times, before humans could walk, the Haven System was the site of a few battles between the Aeldari and the Necrons. Ultimately, the Aeldari were victorious and forced the soulless machines to abandon the system. With the foe defeated they set their sights on turning what would eventually be known as Haven’s Garden into a Maiden World. The Fall forced the Aeldari to abandon it, and when they returned they would find the system teeming with Mon’keigh life. The Forge World in the system and the consistent presence of ships would make any hope of attack, by either Asuryani or Drukhari, fruitless so the system has largely been left alone. The Mon’keigh population have no records of anything regarding the Aeldari and are completely unaware of any significance the system has to it.
Aeldari Forces in the Haven System
The opening of the Great Rift has forced the Aeldari on the defensive to hold out against the tide of Chaos that’s sweeping the galaxy. A Maiden World swarming with Mon’keigh is the last thing on their minds. However, there are a few reasons why an Aeldari might be drawn to the Haven System. There are rumors that there could be some artifacts significant to the Aeldari that are hidden somewhere in the system. Some particular opportunists may find this a perfect time to make preparation to retake the system or find other fortunes. More farsighted individuals may wish to direct events to a more favorable future. Of course, the system is also an excellent battleground against their most hated foe: Chaos.
What purpose Aeldari of any sort might come here is known to only them and fate. However, what seems to be common is no one is willing to commit much force to any action here. That shouldn’t be too much of a hindrance to the determined for the Aeldari know better than most how something small could have the potential to alter the fate of the galaxy.
There can be a number of reasons why an Aeldari would come here, but a few particular groups might have more reason than most.
The warlike Biel-Tan has always sought to reclaim the Maiden Worlds. With the fracturing of their Craftworld and their people as some joined the Ynnari while others resent them, it may drive them to take desperate measures.
Craftworld Ulthwé is well known for their skilled Farseers and always meddling to weave a better future for their people. Perhaps they might see something in the Haven System that could be critical for the future. The spinners of fate may act to avert disaster or pave a better future.
The newly formed Ynnari seek to wake their sleeping god, but even that is to further their ultimate goal of destroying Chaos and foiling She Who Thirsts. It’s known that they are willing to work with the Imperium for they had a hand in resurrecting the Roboute Guilliman, so simply assisting them in destroying the chaotic taint in the system could be enough for them. However, the Ynnari are also known to value treasures from before the Fall so the rumors of Aeldari artifacts could attract them as well.
With the opening of Khaine’s Gate when Yvraine ascended to her current form has thrown the Drukari in disarray. It’s unlikely they will make an appearance, but it is possible they might see a chance to pillage a distracted Imperial system, feed off the suffering of its people, or offer services allowing them to do both.
The myriad masques of the Harlequins are ever mysterious in their motivations, and could have many reasons to visit the system. Though it is unlikely that a full masque would make an appearance, it is highly possible that a few solitary members could arrive and either render aid or harm upon the system denizens ( fair to say with their support of the Ynnari and their hatred of Chaos, they are on the whole more likely to offer aid.)
Aeldari Forces on Haven’s Garden
There is a hidden Webway gate somewhere on the Maiden World where Aeldari can enter. If there are any Aeldari on the planet they are either alone or in small squads with their presence largely unknown.
