History
The T'au are a relative newcomer in the Haven system, having only arrived roughly a year after the Great Rift came into being. Disparate elements from the T'au’s 4th sphere of expansion found themselves exiting their disastrous voyage years after they began, lightyears from their projected exit, and in a system full of Imperium vessels in the midst of combat.
Reeling from their experience in the warp, the T'au remained scattered for several hours. Saved from destruction only by the fact that the Imperium was engaged in hunting operations against Chaos troop transports. This break was enough for communications to be reestablished between the T'au ships, and from there for a chain of command to form.
Shas’O Tash’var Ire Fa’la took command of the scattered force and formulated a plan for survival. Realizing his ships were damaged and would not survive prolonged combat against the better supplied Imperium navy, he insisted that the only hope for survival would be to land on one of the planets. With what little intelligence could be gathered, the Planet of Haven’s Garden was chosen, with the city of Plenty specifically labeled as their primary landing zone.
As the Imperial Navy was busy with its own conflict, the T'au rushed for Haven’s Garden and the bulk of their ships dropped as much of their cargo as possible in a mass invasion before skeleton crews attempted to take the ships down as well. The intent being that at least some of the ships might survive the atmospheric entry and could be hidden away for possible use later.
For the most part the plan went off without a hitch. The bulk of the T'au force was able to remain coherent despite the rushed landing and handily took control of the city. The vast majority of the void capable ships were unfortunately destroyed, though some scant few did make planetfall intact, from there the T'au were able to secret them away in hastily built covers.
In the assault on Plenty, the T'au quickly realized that actual combat was mostly unnecessary barring a few opening engagements. The citizens of Plenty revolted when the T'au landed, overwhelming the Imperial Guard and PDF in the city even as the T'au entered the city. Dissatisfied with their lot in life and weary of the Imperium’s meandering oppression, they were eager to hear more of the Greater Good and how it could make their lives better.
Now, several months into their mostly bloodless occupation, the T'au have found the planet to be fraught with untold dangers and threats from unexpected quarters.
Organization
The T'au force is spread into its customary caste system, most hailing from the Tash’var Sept (although there are forces from other Septs present as well). There are several exceptions to their complement. Most glaringly, there is a distinct absence of Ethereal Caste on the planet. Their entire number having perished during Warp travel.
Primarily, the bulk of the T'au personnel fall into the Fire Caste, Fire Warriors and Pathfinders are found in plenty, along with multiple battlesuit teams and a modest amount of armored gunship support.
Second in size is the Earth Caste contingent, responsible for ensuring the city of Plenty and the T'au military holdings are kept up and running, as well as erecting structures for refugees and seeing to the concealment of the few surviving voidships at their disposal.
The Air Caste fared poorly in the landings, but still makes up a sizable portion of the Tau force. Largely relegated to guarding the grounded void ships and operating some of the larger atmospheric craft, they mostly keep to themselves and are rarely seen outside of the central Spire in Plenty.
The Water Caste barely can be quantified as a contingent any more. Few of them survived the trip through the Warp, and fewer still the landings on Haven’s Garden. Now the few remaining survivors are overworked and largely underappreciated by the majority of their fellows, though they are arguably the most important part of the T'au force. As it was they who paved the way for the largely bloodless conquest of Plenty, and have convinced a good portion of Plenty’s PDF to stay on and join their cause.
Finally the auxiliaries are primarily made up of Gue’vesa from the populace of Plenty, mostly former PDF given a new purpose. There are also a scant few Vespid and Kroot auxiliary teams that are largely held back due to their more alien nature.
T'au Forces on Haven’s Garden
The T'au are almost entirely centered around the city of Plenty, having chosen the city in particular due to it being an agricultural hub as well as a sizable population center. This was done in the hopes that the Imperium would be less likely to attempt orbital strikes due to the importance of the city.
Originally they attempted to hold and secure all of Plenty, but soon realized they were dealing with more than just Imperial holdouts; encountering Chaos Cultists and suspicious worshippers of what seemed to be the planet itself. With that knowledge, the T'au erected a massive cordon around the inner city, moved the loyal population within the cordon, and from there are attempting to secure their hold of the city block by block.
Their equipment is in surprisingly good repair, and due to their losses from the terrible warp travel, they have a large amount of surplus Tau weaponry with which to arm their auxiliaries.

- PC’s can play one vehicle and its crew, no vehicle squadrons
