When one looks upon the Harvest Temple they can not help but be in awe. Even as war ravages the city and the threat of enemies within rises the doors remain open to the faithful. The walls of the huge building are a beautiful stone with bas relief murals depicting history of the Imperium, Saint Laramie’s crusade, and Haven's Garden ringing the top. Above the wooden double doors, which are almost always open, was a stained window mural of the God-Emperor sitting on His Golden Throne. They’d be instantly greeted by a security checkpoint manned by at least one Sororitas along with church guards or even Maccabian Janissaries depending on time. Two large metal doors would block the nave if they ever closed and two hallways reached into the wings. Both wings first had confession booths where people could go confess their sins anonymously or snitch on the potential heresy of their neighbors. The right wing held a daycare run by priests and preachers looking after the children of those who visit. The left wing held restrooms and utility rooms often used to teach classes, hold private sessions with priests, conduct some rituals, and other things away from public eyes.
The main nave held pews that could seat thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of people where there are always preachers willing to talk to anyone seeking advice or comfort when asked. The walls had windows of stained glass that depicted saints such as Sebastian Thor. Candles lined the walls and the chandeliers above that were attentively cared for by priests, clerks, and deacons. After the main nave was a crossing where the right lead to a simple auxiliary altar with a stained glass depiction of Saint Laramie behind it; a popular place of worship that is always open. The left was a stairway that lead to the roof access and bell tower that was off limits to the public. Beyond the crossing was where the original temple building met guarded by a pair of wooden double doors that almost seamlessly transitioned from the new to the old. The doors lead to the ‘First’, ‘Original’, or ‘True’ nave and a main altar that was a golden aquila. Behind the altar and choir was a large stained glass window of the God-Emperor sitting on his Golden Throne surrounded by various organizations supporting Him and the Imperium such as a Imperial Navy Battleship in space on the top right, men tending fields on the bottom left, and Space Marines dropping from the sky from the top left. The original temple is often open for the public but can be closed off for several reasons, such as private weddings, Adepta Sororitas ceremonies, and other private religious functions.
The Harvest Temple is almost always open to the public, be they noble or commoner. Even at the dead of night there will be preachers, priests, and guards available to help those who stumble through their doors. The bell rings to announce big public ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Planetary Governor and Candlemas, or alert the town of incoming dangers such as during the Rages. The Temple is a inspiring symbol of Haven’s Garden’s enduring spirit as it has survived the Laramie Crusade, the Abandonment, and the yearly major attacks since the Great Rift opened. While it hasn’t been unscathed, the Harvest Temple will stand as long as the faithful do.
OOC: The Harvest Temple is open to all followers of the Imperium be they noble, Guard, or simple citizen; but don't be surprised if you get harassed for suspicious behavior. Preaching is mainly done in the main nave where the pews are. The main altar is available to visit.
