Name: Ruse
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Age: ? ? ? (likely in her hundreds)
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: around 120 lbs
Allegiance: Chaos, herself.
Rank/Occupation: Mischief Maker.
Notes: Some whispered she holds the title of “Bride of Tzeentch.” She laughs and says that is very silly and dramatic.
Born: ? ? ? (Unknown)
Languages Spoken: Fluent in Low and High Gothic. Speaks Asuryani with frightening accuracy (perhaps a boon from Tzeentch?)
Appearance: A slender human woman in what appears to be her later thirties, or perhaps early forties. Of course she has looked thus for–well, centuries now. Wavy brown hair, eyes like grey steel, skin that is perhaps just a touch too pale and doesn’t seem to ever really tan.
She is comfortable in all sorts of outerwear. Most often seen in some form of ensemble evolving deep blues and blacks, with a flat-cap set atop her head, hair spilling out behind it.
History:
Ruse. Her history is known only in fragments, even to herself now. She grew up on a human world. Said world was unpleasant, but livable. She was ever a clever girl, growing up, always trying to see how things worked and manipulate the best outcome for herself. She almost joined the Mechanicus, but decided against it at the last moment. She felt no connection to the machine god or the Emperor, though she dared not say such things openly.
She found a society that whispered of a better path. A twisting way. She joined, she excelled, she grew bored, spurned them and moved on. Finding their rituals hokey and subpar, it did not offer her the power she craved.
Ruse then found a book. A book that appeared only to her, and in it she found the object of her worship. The Changer of Ways, the god of Chaos and manipulation. And in this way, she found a calling that always brings change, adventure and the ability to gain more power. She entered the service of Tzeentch in a game of chance and amusement, a dance in the mortal realm that she excelled at. In return for her service, she has seemingly been granted something akin to Rejuve treatments, or other strange boons.
Of course she has failed at times. But in her failures she always finds a measure of success, perhaps just as her master planned. She battles for souls, and has claimed several choice ones for her god. Now she has set her sights on Harvest. Accompanied by her loyal Ogryn Ulv, she took passage with a reinforcement force of Chaos Worshippers heading to the Haven System, enduring a treacherous journey through twisted and heinous means with the understanding that she was a powerful Sorceress of Tzeentch and would aid the cause of Chaos there.
Once there, of course. She jauntily waved goodbye and abandoned those who had brought her. Dodging out of sight and away on her own path. The truth path. The small game. The Mortal Dance.
Personality:
Ruse is—-affable. Friendly, flirty, tempting and easy-going. Or at least she can be. She molds herself to her tasks as a thespian to a character. It could be said that at her core, her innermost self, she is a girl on the hunt for something. In this aspect, at the center of all her scheming she is confident almost beyond measure, self-assured and possessed of a razor-sharp mind. She is almost solely focused on herself and her own goals, but on occasion can be found to act in others interest. She is particularly fond of Ulv.
Equipment:
Clothes (all sorts)
Hats (fancy and mundane)
Books (a whole suitcase full)
Las Pistol.
Characteristics:
High Concept: Ruse Looks out for Ruse. (Ruse puts herself first in all things with very, very few exceptions)
Trouble: Am I grandstanding again? (Ruse has a tendency to employ complicated plans. And sometimes monologue).
Aspect: Okay, the Ogryn’s not so bad. (Ulv’s pretty okay for an idiot meatshield.)
Stunts:
I’m totally a Sorceress: Ruse is highly skilled at lying, especially to other Chaos Worshippers. She receives +2 when she cleverly convinces the followers of Chaos that she is more than she seems.
I know Something You Don’t: Ruse is far, far older than she looks. Once per session she can employ her razor-sharp mind to recall details that might bring some helpful information to her.
Slap Fight!: Ruse is surprisingly fast and well-trained in martial arts. She receives +2 when she quickly engages an enemy in close combat.
Stats:
Careful: +1
Clever: +3
Flashy: +2
Forceful: 0
Quick: +2
Sneaky: +1
